Maxamet here to stay ?

So, little question,

are the maxamet para's going to be part of the line for a couple of years,
or has Sal mentioned anything about this ?

How long they are around will likely depend on sales. I would expect them to be a round for a while but only time will tell. They should stay in regular production as long as folks are buying them. Since they are a brand new item I would say you have some time.

with ZDP-189, S90V, S110V, Maxamet, and H1 in standard production Spyderco is crushing the competition. I hope those steels are here to stay... or here until something shinier, newer, and better comes along :D

I want you to get what you want too. I just never liked the PM2.

:) It is not that I never liked it. I just seem to have out grown it. I have no idea why but I hardly ever carry a PM2 anymore. Truth is it will probably be the best selling Maxamet model.

The Maxamet Military however is my most anticipated knife at the moment.

I think the military should be first in line for every new steel.

I hope so, along with m4 and hap40. I would also like to see m2 or an equivalent come back.

+1. No interest in the pm2. I might unload my S110v even though it's a cutie

Maxamet has done well- I don't hear any complaints about it and see very few available on the used market. Whoever is buying them apparently likes them. I missed the Manix 2 because of price but I'm looking forward to the PM2.

I'm waiting for a Military and/or a G10 Manix 2. If what I've read is true, that it sharpens and takes a finer edge easier than S110V and it holds that edge longer, it sounds like a steel I would love. If I can get M4 behavior in a steel that holds an edge as long or longer than 110, oh my. I will deal with the battling corrosion for a steel like that.

Maxamet is awesome stuff! I use my N5 several times a week for opening boxes and packaging at work. Haven't seen a need to touch up the edge yet. I would love to see a DLC Para 3 Maxamet. I think that would be just about a perfect edc knife.
Time for another :spyder:!

Maxamet has quickly become my all time favorite blade steel. It develops a slight patina with use but the stone wash blade finish, (on my Manix 2 LW), helps to prevent corrosion, I believe. I love the way it gets insanely sharp and just keeps cutting. It is a fun steel to sharpen and use.

I would love to have a Manix 2 AND a Manix 2 XL with ss liners, G-10 scales, and .125" Maxamet blade.
It seems to me the Signature Series of knives is lacking in non-stainless steel blade offerings and I am glad to see Maxamet filling in some of those spaces. I hope the Maxamet options continue.

I'm hoping for a Maxamet Military and a G-10 Native.
