Just wondering if I'll actually be able to purchase the knives I actually want from the 2017 Spyderco line-up in 2017? LOL

Possibly. Sometimes unforseen issues cause a knife to be pushed back to the next calendar year, or even later. It's happened before and I'm sure it'll happen again.

I think the Rhino is a good example, where it was planned, built, delivered to Spyderco, and the quality wasn't up to spec. Since Spyderco still wanted to make the knife, they had to source a new manufacturer, get all the tooling built and set up, and then wait for it to fit into that factory's schedule (and we're still waiting on it to be delivered). But better to get a great knife late than a mediocre knife on time.

I think that there are usually a few that carry over until the next year. Patience grasshopper. Sal has said many times they they would rather have it be right than put it out too soon. Good things usually come to those who wait. :)

Hi S110-gthang,

Welcome to our forum.

Delivering new designs is what we try to do. They mostly go according to "plan".

New concepts often take more time to develop.

Maybe the ones you want will drop around the holidays. You know you're going to get yourself a lil' spydie present anyway.

I would much prefer a knife be right than on time.

I'm ok with it. If they dropped all at the same time I'd probably lose my house.
