I no longer have a ZDP 189 Manbug

Post by twinboysdad »

Because I gifted it to a young man who is headed to my alma mater, Auburn University. We went to a send off for this young man who is the son of family friends. We had a cash gift for him, but I realized there is zero chance this guy has a pocket knife at all. He now has a pocket friendly, campus friendly EDC to see him in what I hope are as magical years as my years at Auburn were.

Great gift!

(Too bad he is going to Auburn, though... :p )

Just kidding. I did not go to either school.

Great gift, hope he can keep from losing it. He will remember you as long as he has that knife. I have an old Schrade fruit knife a gentleman gave me as a tip when we were doing charters back in the 80's. Still have the knife and still remember him. We caught a nice wahoo that day as we headed for home. :spyder:

I'm surprised he's allowed to have anything with an edge on a campus these days. I'd still keep it hidden if I were him.

Depends on where you are...

My son carries a ZDP 189 Endura 4 every day at Lamar University (Texas) and no one gives him a second glance. Several of his buddies carry knives also, no issues.

Good call...you probably won't have to sharpen it until he graduates. Love my Manbugs...all 3 of them share pocket time!

Best part was telling the wife I gifted the knife and she say "that was awesome, you know we will get you another one" BOOM
