The blade on the larger version will be approximately 3". I'll try to get some of the other specs listed soon.attila wrote:How much larger are we talking here? 3" blade? 3.5"?SpyderNut wrote: I am in the process of making a larger Rhino. As stated already, we definitely need a larger Spydiechef! 4 - 4.5" would be PERFECT!

Another vote for the SpydieChef XL!
I'd also really like to see the Chaparral stepped up into a 3.5" version. I think that would really give the Caly 3.5 a proper competitor and maybe we'd actually see some produced with some great super steels. The Sage series is NOT what I'm going for here - the Sage 4 is a bit "blocky" in my hands. I want a trim and lean Chap XL that's thin like the Caly.
Oh, and a Rhino XL too Michael!! :D

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
I'd like a Manix 2 XL with more blade thickness like they did with the back lock version. I don't need the back lock, just would like some upgraded steel choices but also thicker. I guess in that size handle we could also tolerate some additional blade length while we're at it
Millies in S110V, CTS-204p, REX 45, PM2/S110v, Native 5/Maxamet, P4/K390, Pacific Salt SE/H1, UK PK
Wants/Wishes (only NIB and EU): Militarys in 52100, Maxamet, Cru-Wear, Manix 2/Maxamet
Yes, Virginia, that's a Purple Haze in my suit pocket :)

I'd gladly pay good money for a SpydieChef XL. 4.5" please.

Ah, a Rhino XL? I may be able to help with that. :DRadioactiveSpyder wrote:Another vote for the SpydieChef XL!

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
Thought I posted this last night, but must have fallen asleep typing it.
I could go for a GB Air model in XL. With a 3.5" or larger blade in M4 or K390. Slim profile though and thin stock.... whos in?
Also I would buy a larger Spydiechef.

Thought I was losing it :p posted my reply in another thread with similar subject line. My answer the same, Mantra 2 XL with LC and bronze washers.
Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
And +1 for the SpydieChef XL. I'm a kitchen knife and returned the SpydieChef because it was too small. Don't be shy. The bigger the better.
If it had the "details" of the Slysz Bowie, that would also be lovely. I'd pay so much money for a giant SpydieChef with contoured TI handles, chamfering on the blade, stonewashed finish, and smooth as glass action. Thin blade, thin grind. If you could hollow grind it, that'd be baller.
I also think there should be another culinary-focused, XL folding slicer with a wharncliffe edge and a kiritsuke-style drop tip. 120mm or longer.

I really want (have been for some years now, actually) an XL Junior. Arguably, the Sliverax and/or Parata do exist in the same niche, but to me the precise profile of the Junior, only augmented, would send me straight in knife heaven.
I also agree with the Spydiechef suggestions above.

c38 jess horn lightweight,
about 1/4 inch longer with ffg blade.

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
Well, it has to be said, an XL Tatanka, because the original was just a bit too small.
But, I'd take an XL SpydieChef, if it comes along.

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
The two Spyders I would like to see in the Extra-Large format would first to have a Spyderhawk with a blade maybe 1.5 inches to 2 inches longer than the original. Second I would love to see a C-60 Ayoob in a larger size>> maybe with a blade about an inch or so longer.
I've also had thoughts about what a Catcherman model would be like in a larger scale model?

Re: Which knives would you like to see in XL size?
So you would want a Spyderhawk with a Catcherman like blade length (curved inward obviously) and a larger Catcherman for those monsters like Lance reels in? I'd be up for buying those. :DJD Spydo wrote:The two Spyders I would like to see in the Extra-Large format would first to have a Spyderhawk with a blade maybe 1.5 inches to 2 inches longer than the original. They should make an XL version of the whale rescue blade. You know... just in case.

Yojimbo 1 or 2 in XL.
The blade on model 1 was too small; the handle on model 2 is too small.
