Appreciating the pinkLarge Lum

#1

Post by dbcad »

I purchased this knife shortly after my wife passed away mid October. She was a girl's girl and very much enjoyed pink.

Only started using it early spring. I'm finding this very well built Large Lum to be an absolute delight. Touched it up again at 30 on the SM today. I find the blade shape to be incredibly useable. I don't have it in me to a detailed review right now but I would strongly suggest this model to anyone who enjoys knives.

Keep 'em sharp

It must be very hard to loose your wife and I do hope you're OK.

I bought mine on a whim. It's a little unusual, pink and because of the big slab of VG-10.

I was a little disappointed because the only holes that are tapped are the ones holding the clip and only one other on that same side so I can't move the clip where I'd prefer but it does matter. I polished the clip and it suits the knife much better I think but I don't like the hole in it. When I buy a Mule next from Spyderco I'll buy a polished clip without a hole and I'll be happy.

Anyhow, the big pink knife has turned out a bit of a favourite and always draws comments when I pull it out of my pocket usually for no particular reason.

Whilst I don't have the pink version I can attest to the joy that the large Lum is to use. It is without any doubt one of my favorite "large" folders. It is an absolute slicing machine and in my opinion much more enjoyable to use than the regular or lil' Chinese.

But man, it takes a lot of space in the pocket!!

It's good to see you back. I haven't seen your name in a while, bro. I certainly can't imagine what it's like to lose your wife. You have my deepest sympathy. Hang on to that knife and enjoy it. :)
- best wishes, Jazz.
