Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Here is a pic of the MXG clip ("plain" finish) on my Para3 with my new Native in the background! I wanted the knife to sit a little lower in the pocket, but not 100% immersed in the pocket and I find this clip to be a nice compromise. Still have the lanyard hole area to grab when pulling from the pocket which I like.
Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Should anyone want to explore this idea - instead of a single large hole on top of the loop over, how about three smaller holes corresponding to the three screw holes below. Could be interesting.
I too like the two screw clips from MXG. Especially the shallower one for the PM2. Stays below the scale.

Here's a pic of each on the Para 3. I prefer the Lynch on the right, as it doesn't obstruct the lanyard hole and gives it a cleaner look imo.

Any idea why when I post a pic from imgur, it looks a bit out of focus until you click the image, then it's sharp and in focus?

Here are my 2 mxg clips on the left and 2 Lynch clips on the right. The ones on the blue Para 3 and Delica look nearly identical, though different brand.

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
I've got MXG clips on my Para 3s. They leave room for the lanyard tube and completely hide the knife in the pocket.
If the Lynch clips were available when I was looking for a replacement I would have gotten them but I wasn't going to wait for them.

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Oh fine, give me a reason to post some sexy pics of this knife... It is the FFG S90V with the fluted CF scales. Really starting to like it as it breaks in. I disassembled, cleaned and lubed it with a little nano-oil 85W and its definitely getting a lot smoother. Still a little tough to flick open, but easily opens and closes with one hand. About the same profile as the Para 3 but a little shorter in height because of the spyder hole positioning. Carries a lot slimmer and very light without any liners. S90V is razor sharp out of the box and has a beautiful satin finish!

Do I spy a matching OD green clip on that REC?Brown_Recluse wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 5:08 pmI've got MXG clips on my Para 3s. They leave room for the lanyard tube and completely hide the knife in the pocket.

I prefer the 2 screw style mxg clip. I like the slim clip.

Well, it's bronze but my camera likes to tell lies lol. The clip blooks really good with it though. Almost like it was made for it.Xander3Zero wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 7:22 pmDo I spy a matching OD green clip on that REC?Brown_Recluse wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 5:08 pmI've got MXG clips on my Para 3s. Hey, different strokes for different folks lol. I'm a fan of the thicker one. I do like the looks of the slim ones on the PM2 though. Might have to pick one up.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 7:24 pmI prefer the 2 screw style mxg clip. I like the slim clip.
I can see why you say. When I was installing my first one I dropped one of those tiny screws. Luckily, I found it. After that I kind of developed a technique and it seems to work lol :D

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
I just ordered two of the Lynch Northwest para 3 clips. Their design is kicked over to the side and doesn’t cover the lanyard hole at all. And they were only $18 each.
Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Get the Lynch, superior design and finish.

I take it this is the one on your Brown PM2:

The one on your Blue Para 3 doesnt look like anything I can see on the MXG website..
Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Good catch, you're absolutely correct. It's a Lynch clip on the blue Para 3. Totally forgot I had another PM2 that had a MXG clip as well. Got my packaging mixed up.husq2100 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:43 pmI take it this is the one on your Brown PM2:

MXG clips. Thanks husq2100 for clearing that up so I didn't misinform anybody.

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Earlier in this thread Liquid Cobra had posted a pic of a short Lynch clip and MXG clip. In his pic the finish of the Lynch didn't look very good. I didn't remember any of mine being that way but I never really looked until tonight.
Pictured below are two short Lynch clips with sandwashed finish. Both are the new style. I just received the one on the left a week ago but looked at it for the first time tonight. I've had the one on the right for several months. As you can see the clip on the right looks much better than the one on the left. I plan on contacting Casey to ask about it.
EDIT: I've since contacted Casey Lynch regarding the finish issue mentioned in this post. I just want to say that Mr. Lynch was very apologetic. He said that he had an issue with the titanium that's being supplied to him and that these shouldn't have been sent to me. He's sending me replacement clips for the ones I just received. As RadioactiveSpyder has said, LynchNW communication and service is excellent!
Some image quality was lost when I uploaded to imgur but you should be able to see the difference pretty well.
Also, there's been discussion regarding changes that Lynch has made to his clips. In the pic below the two knives on the left have clips that are the older style. The three on the right are made to the new dimensions. As stated previously the new style has a wider hole for easier assembly and has a wider outside overall dimension near the hole. Comparing them side-by-side I'd pick the older style if I had a choice. I appreciate the ease of installation of the newer ones but I like the appearance of the older style better. I never had much of a problem installing the older style once I got the hang of it.
