NATIVE 5 FLUTED TITANIUM - C41TIF5

The Native 5 could easily be described as the perfect knife by many standards. It is utility and elegance, practicality and performance. Many versions of the Native 5 exist, but Spyderco took it to a nearly unthinkable level when they created the work of art that is the fluted titanium model. This is not only one of my favorite knives to use, it is also one of my favorite knives to admire. For me, this is the pinnacle of knife design. Thank you Spyderco!

Instant Classic - Spyderco Rubicon

This was my first into the territory of art piece functionality. The Rubicon was just a stunning work of art, from the smooth curves, classy handle material, to the accented pop of color. It is the epitome of Spyderco's effortless blending of form and function. The Rubicon, to me, is an instant classic. Therefore, I made it a point to keep the picture as clean and simple as to let the knife speak for itself.

Spyderco PITS - C192TI

I wanted my entry to reflect my burning passion for Spyderco's Slipit lineup of knives. The Spyderco (BBQ ;) ) PITS is the king of the Slipits due to its ingenious "locking" method and premium construction which consists of a blade made from Bohler N690Co steel and titanium for the scales. Titanium is easily my favorite handle material Spyderco uses, and as you can see from my photo below it is pretty tough stuff. For my entry this year, I engulfed the knife in flames over and over to achieve this shot.

As always, thank you to Spyderco for hosting such a generous contest again this year.

Never Summer Native 5 LW
For my photo, I wanted to showcase a very special model that pays tribute to some of the nations greatest heroes. This is an excellent knife for an excellent cause.

The Fluted Ti Military is among my favorite of all things Spyderco. I find it beautiful, and very comfortable to use. Here is one of the earlier anodized versions, with a non-anodized companion, resting on some cattails.

Calendar Submission 1280x960.jpg
Paramilitary 2 was with me when the family and I were mountain biking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We came across this tree that was all knotty and really cool looking. So what does one do when we see a photo opportunity while enjoying nature? I went back and took some photos with my Para!

I was enjoying a slice of my favorite Lemon Meringue pie, when it finally hit me - Spydercos add to the flavor of life! When I saw the intense color of the pie filling, I immediately thought of my Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt. I love Spyderco knives because they're available in different designs and flavors to suit every lifestyle! Life isn't boring, so your knife shouldn't be either!

Actually, what we need is a weekly calendar! :p which would be an impossible amount of trouble and expense, and we already have a weekly photo contest... which should be a good way to hone our camera skills & sharpen our photo eye

Seriously, this has been great fun and the competition was awesome this time. I'd like to thank the Spyderco crew for going to the trouble and expense to allow us to do this again this year.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.
