Carrying a Manbug on my keys, but..

#1

Post by StuntZombie »

So I started off carrying a Ladybug Hawkbill Salt, and moved up to the new Manbug Salt. I have a lanyard attached, that is attached to a keyring that I attach to my main keyring. It carries well on my keys, but there are times I need to use it, that I don't want my keys dangling from the end of the knife handle. Is there some sort of attachment that would allow me to quickly disconnect the Manbug from my keyring, without having to take the time to remove one keyring from another?

Ooh.I forgot all about those. I'll have to see if my local Ace still carries them.

Make yourself something like this. You can do just about anything with paracord.

David,

Any idea on where I might find instructions on how to tie that?

I can write it up later when I'm not on my cell. It's super easy, basically just a hangman's knot that's looped through the lanyard hole, with the O rings holding the two sides of the loop together.

Totally, two thumbs up on those! Here's a shot with my Roadie but my Super Blue and HAP40 Manbugs ride on my keychain the last few years.

For times when you want a quick pocket clip option for them, I also recommend the TEC Accessories P7 clips.

Thanks Radioactive. I was trying to find those TEC clips, but couldn't remember the name.

There's also a two piece quick detachable fitting available in most hardware stores...
Image
...pressing down on the plunger (end nearest the knife) allows the two halves to separate...
Image
...has the side benefit of being able to act as a handle extension when using the knife.

These are cool, too. A bit pricey, but they work very well.

Although for something as small as a Manbug, I like David's suggestion of the tiny s-biners.

You could always just tie a paracord lanyard on it and keep it loose in the pocket. :D
