Spyderco Electrician's knife?

Some companies have special knives with blades for wire stripping and other functions that electricians and people in related fields would need. What present Spyderco knife would best fit that use, and, should Spyderco make a folder that has such functions? Also, regarding the handle, would it be good and would it matter if the handle was made with a very insulated material? I know some have used the Spyderco Native when working on high tensioned electric lines.

Would the standard Spyder Edge serrations be a good wire-stripper if needed?

My Tasman salt spyderedge strips wires just fine if I'm in a pinch and not close to wire strippers.

When I hear electricians knife I automatically think of a Camillus tl29 or the Victorinox Electrician. In addition to a wire stripping blade they both have a flat head screwdriver. That seems to be a common requirement as well on electricians knives.

It seems as though any multitool or SAK would work well in that role.

I recall something mentioned about the original Worker being designed for something electrician related, it had something to do with the tip...

Would go for a Victorinox for starters but for something Spyderco the SE Jazz Delica would be my first pick for this.

I would also vote for the Spyderedged blade as being advantageous for electricians and other trades too. That's one big reason I'm such a big C-44 Dyad fan. Because I can see why an electrician would need PE & SE blades both for various jobs. Now I agree with EVIL D that Victorinox does indeed make good knives for a lot of different tradesmen. An old man I know that used to graft fruit trees used only Victorinox blades especially made for those particular uses.

But I would think that any good Spyderedged blade made by Spyderco would do well in several different trades. Possibly Spyderco feels that way too and that may be the reason they don't see a need in making knives for certain specific trades or purposes. Again I think the C-44 Dyad or even the C-39 Dyad jr. would be great for many different tradesmen.

I've heard great things for the serrated hawkbills for electricians. Imho, extra do-dads or blatant aesthetic choice can make a functional tool clunky/silly.

I strip wires with all of my knives which happen to be mostly spydercos.
but on my keychain is a leatherman squirt es4 which fits the requirements quite good too

I got one of the ES4s back when Radio Shack first had them as an exclusive, it was a fantastic catch-all tool for my needs working in car and home audio installation.

I do think price was ultimately what killed it. The lock is awesome though :p

I got mine in a trade or I wouldn't have one. If they did a sprint with the right steel I'd pay big money for another one. After some mods it really is a sweet knife. Liner locks aren't my favorite either but they won't stop me from loving a knife.
