Picked this knife up at a local pawn shop a few weeks ago, anyone know the history about it and if it's rare?

I got it cheap and I know it's a Wengner.

Shown is a pic of it from both sides with my favorite BBQ pork rifle.

The red button unlocks the liner, I'm kinda getting into collecting the SAK now, this 1 cost me a whole 10.00 bucks. Thanks Ron

Ron, I believe it is a Wenger Century Swiss Army Knife , featuring a timber camo handle, a single (60/40 serrated) non-reflective 4-in long 440 stainless steel blade and a safety lock.

Those are not rare. A common price for a new one is $19.99. You got a good deal.

It is a Century(I was hard-core for SAK before I was bit by the Spyder bug). $19.99 is a fair price, but I hate to say you could've saved alot at eknifeworks.com. They've got the Realtree and Advantage Timber models for $8.99(Wetlands is like $21.99,go figure). If you like the camo Wengers, they've got several of them there cheap(<$10). I believe Wenger is discontinuing the camos.

BTW,how sharp was yours? I have several of the camos, and they all needed to be sharpened. My regular ones were all sharp out of the box,but the camos all needed touching up. Even the saws were kinda dull. They must bead blast them after sharpening and it takes some of the edge off.

On a side note,I'm wondering what the real use is of the camo knives. You generally carry them in a pouch or in your pocket,so they're usually out of sight. And when they're being used, your hand covers most of the handle. I can just see dropping a Realtree out of a treestand and spending the day looking for it. Red is much easier to find.

Hey Ron,

Is that a Remington long-action dressed in a Ramline stock?

Oh yeah, a knife was there, too.....
