Which RIL Spyderco?

#1

Post by TomAiello »

If you wanted to try out the RIL, and wanted to buy just one Spyderco knife with that lock, which one would it be?

Let's leave flippers out, just to narrow the field.

Knife would be EDC in an unrestricted jurisdiction.

I voted Sage 2 because of prize and the fact i already own one (and can vouch for it) If you throw the price aspect out i'd like to try the Slysz.

Sage 2, the only one I have currently. Lock works great, no overtravel stop or insert needed. Also pocket clip works great and lockbar cutout is on the inside so no snagging on pant pocket like so many other models.

I really love my Mantra but it isn't on the list. Of the ones you listed the Spydiechef interests me the most.

Not sure why I've never purchased a Ti RIL Millie. Have a couple of the Sage 2's a Techno and a number of the line lock Millies. Still on the fence with the KW exclusive or the fluted S30v model. The Millie's are another great design by Mr. Glesser. :spyder:

voted for the Bowie, but the only RIL spyderco that I actually own and haven't gotten rid of in favor of something else is the my Domino. Out of your list the bowie is expensive for sure, but the Fit and finish is really good. The millie is awesome, but I don't own one (don't shoot me) I think G10 fits the platform a little better.

I'd go with the Techno in your case.

I personally am leaning toward the SpydieChef.

I voted sage 2. It's the lowest entry cost and the most representative of spyderco.
