Here is a picture of the new back lock Manix 2 (top) and the G10 ball bearing lock Manix 2. Again I'm sorry the picture quality and angle isn't better. It's hard trying to balance the knives with one hand and take a cell phone picture with the other. FWIW, according to my measurements, excluding the pocket clip, the total width of the handle on the back lock Manix 2 is about .5 of an inch. Excluding the pocket clip and the protruding polymer ball bearing cage, the handle on the G10 ball bearing lock Manix 2 is 7/16 of an inch. I hope that helps.Popsickle wrote:if you don't mind, could you please post a back to back thickness comparison?Igloo wrote:I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I received the Manix 2 Back Lock from Blade HQ today. The fit and finish is excellent. The G10 scales have a very fine texture. I don't have access to a scale; but, to me the new back lock Manix 2 is lighter than the ball bearing lock G10 Manix 2. Also, the G10 scales and the blade stock is thicker than on the ball bearing lock G10 Manix 2. I've attached some pictures. Sorry for the cell phone picture quality.

I forgot to mention that the new back lock Manix 2 does not have stainless steel liners.
There are threaded steel inserts imbedded in the G10 scales to anchor the pocket clip screws.camvdcs wrote:I thought I read somewhere that there were steel liners molded into the G10 for the clip screws. Got my order in today at KC. Already shipped.

if this sells than we get an XL. I would be surprised if it isn't on the list but dependent on salesDoc Dan wrote:Blue would rock. I also want an XL.

I agree on the jimping/serration, but only half way... with a glove on the projecting liner portions really give a meaningful increase in control.bearfacedkiller wrote:I would have also liked thinner stock but I always say that about every knife.
It looks like this Manix lacks the superfluous jimping of the standard G10 Manix2. If so I really, really like that.
