Glad I got one. I'd rather have a DLC K390, M4, or 4v blade though.

Congratulations !!
It is a fabulous knife. But I agree with you about the opening. I think that is just how it is with frame lock knives. At least it is a pattern I have recognized (and grumbled about). If it makes you feel any better about it, mine is like that, but I still really like the knife.
