That's funny! :p The Native Chief has been in the design stage for over 25 years. So it must be the Most thought out :spyder: design. LOL

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
It has morphed a bit since inception. It looks a lot better now.

As far as strength goes, a knife with steel liners is definitely stronger and more durable than just G10 alone. Will you or I ever need that extra strength and durability? Probably not.
But, what if you did?
To summarize:
1. I like heft in a knife. Not too much, a la Autonomy 2. But, some.

Thanks for your reply! Yours are valid points, no doubt. We just have different preferences, that's all.. :)Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 7:52 pmsteelcity16 wrote:Popsickle wrote:My issue is more with feeling(1) and personal mantra(2).

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
I understand that it's completely personal about liners /linerless! But Cold Steel has proven for years that LINERLESS G10 provides an immensely strong platform. I love that Spyderco is moving to that direction!Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 7:52 pmsteelcity16 wrote:Popsickle wrote:My issue is more with feeling(1) and personal mantra(2).

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
Not for me... I like the Shaman, but the "basic" G10 fits my likings even better than the CF sprint (Micarta would be a different story... )curlyhairedboy wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 7:14 amnext purchase is probably gonna be the cf shaman though.Wartstein wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 6:52 amYou are not alone...curlyhairedboy wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 6:28 amI think I'm gonna need to pick up one of these. Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
I’m not seeing a lot of these in the wild so it’s weird that I’ve got my hands on one here in Canada already. This knife is great. It takes everything about the original Native and makes it better while dropping the things I don’t, namely the swedge.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
Might wait for a different Steel but loving the design. M4 or Cruwear 50% $$$ or a bit more more done deal sold American.
S30V will wait.
S30V will wait.
Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
Wow, you got the Chief and the Shaman sprint too (saw your pic in the S90V Shaman thread). What a cool pair to have new at the same time.Liquid Cobra wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 9:27 pmI’m not seeing a lot of these in the wild so it’s weird that I’ve got my hands on one here in Canada already. Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
No sir, I have not. Have you?
Sure did, pretty cool I must say. They’re so different but similar. You can definitely see and feel the similarities.

Wow, nice! Thanks for posting!
I wonder if anyone else here has the Chief meanwhile.
At at least one Euriopan dealer it must have been available, but is sold out again already...

Nope. Yours is the first I've seen. I hope it's as nice as I imagine.

Re: Native Chief - Can we get a heartbeat?
Looks great I'd really like to see it compared next to the usual suspects
S30V, VG10, M4, XHP, BD1, Cruwear, Elmax, Maxamet, 204P, H1, K390, A11, Rex45, LC200N, M390, 20CV, BD1N, S45VN waiting to afford MagnaCut

Oh yes! Comparison pics to Endura and Military would be great! (And I guess for many to the Police either!)koenigsegg wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 10:50 pmI'd really like to see it compared next to the usual suspects
