Spyderco shipped them?
That's what the guy told me. Said he should receive them in 2 days. So maybe Friday or Monday they'll actually have them.

Rub it in!!! Rub it in!!! :D But seriously VASH I'm glad you snagged one already. It just makes me want mine that much more ;)

Now you at least owe it to us to give us all a detailed review of it. I'm sure Brother Thombrogan will agree with me ;)

Now is "always" The Time: For a New Hawkbill

Holy Spyderedge BATMAN!!! I just looked at the date this thread started  It took over a year for the release of this new Hawkbill  But for sure better late than never ;)

I should have them in hand Saturday. I'm hoping it comes in tomorrow though because it's in Florida and that usually happens over night. I'll be sure to give my opinion on it. One is going straight into edc rotation. I might even give my original SE H1 a vacation.

As for a year. I've been waiting for this since it was discontinued. Thanks spyderco for catering to such niche markets.

Did they email you? Or actually call? I pre-ordered one months ago, and noticed that you can purchase one on their site, but my pre-order hasn't been filled yet. :(

They called me, said my knife is in and ready to go. I'd imagine they're filling pre-orders before selling them to whoever, but might be worth your while to call.

Thanks Vivi. I think I mistakenly looked at the site on my phone and thought they were selling them outright already.

Ordered one from GP. I figured I better not sleep on this one and if I decide I'm never gonna use it I won't have too much trouble getting rid of it.

You will not regret it. This is my second Spyderhawk and my first in SE.

I'm pretty good at disposing of unwanted hawkbill knives.

I came very close to buying another Autonomy instead. I have a feeling they'll be discontinued soon after the Autonomy 2 comes out and I want a backup. I'm having a hard time seeing myself carry any other SE blade but we'll see.

What a fantastic sprint. Definitely like the larger plain edge area of the tip. I cut receipt paper with it and it's scary sharp. Haven't gotten to cut rope yet but I feel like it won't be hard. Thanks spydercrew for making this happen. I already changed the clip position so I can carry it left rear pocket. It's just hard to kick out the original H1 spyderhawk. It's been with me for years and is definitely hands down my most carried knife. When I opened the box i feel like this was my face :D

So I've had it for a few hours and it cuts 1/4" and 3/8" manila rope like butter. My only complaint is the needle sharp tip is pretty easy to bend. It also bent back when I stropped it on cardboard. Thinking the tip might need a microbevel to reinforce it a little.

Once I started reading this thread I broke down and found one at Osogande Knives. Hope it lives up to the energy generated here. :)

I got my Spyderhawk yesterday. I've owned a Tasman in the past, but never a Spyderhawk... all I have to say is wow! What a knife; I love it!
