Put me down for something Gayle Bradley Junction like, in M4.
Something in the 7.75" - 8.375" range. 0.098" blade stock, and 0.014" BTE.
Maybe Sal will surprise us, with some CPM Rex 54 instead?
Now that would be sweet! :)

A CPM M4 Waterway would be great.

So would a Junction or Bradley Bowie in M4.

Sounds like there is a lot of interest in an M4 fixed blade. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it didn't happen a long time ago. Especially since Spyderco's M4 heat treat is well respected in the industry.

My preference would be pukko or Bushcraft style knife. Contoured handle.

Oh yes, a M4 pukko would be very nice! Iiked the design of the Spyderco pukko but I like things that are rusty and trusty. So hopefully we can get a sprint one day!

I’d gladly settle for an M4 Waterway with smooth polished Jade G10 scales. :)
Instead of the "Waterway" they could call it the "Rustaway" :p

I'm afraid I don't carry fixed blades, but 4v/m4/cruwear/v4e is what I would want if I did. I would still want them heat treated to the upper end of their optimal hardness range. I'm not a big stainless guy, but cpm-154 is another good option. Not 154cm, although it's fine, but the powdered version. K390 would be excellent as well if you're looking to trade off a bit more toughness for wear resistance.

I like the idea of a small edc fixed blade, but I just can't walk around the grocery store with a large sheath attached to my belt. So I would only used a fixed blade for outdoor work or camping/hiking (which I don't do a lot of), but I still find the idea interesting.

In cpm m4, it would be an even better field and game knife.

Hey Hitch, for what it’s worth I live a little less than a kilometre, as the crow flies from the ocean in humid Sydney and work on a Naval Base in Sydney Harbour. Undoubtedly corrosion can be a problem but I find it’s easily managed with the plethora of quality CLP’s etc. on the market.

I’d never not buy a knife I liked because it came with a blade that could potentially rust and think it’s a bit of a shame for people who are rigid in their Stainless versus Non Stainless view, for they certainly miss out on some pretty incredible blade steels.

And No mate, I haven’t forgotten that some of us work on the ocean and are required to cut ropes etc. wet with saltwater. Though I’d hazard a guess and say those folk are a relatively small minority. ;)

I agree. I live in a country with lots of rain and I'm a sweaty guy. I hardly managed to get any rust let alone a bit of patina on my M4 blades. I even cut citrus with them and still nothing. My full carbon steels have some patina and I was hopeing to see the same on the M4 to be honest. :p I better use it more and hope!

Wish I could say the same. I'll rust anything that can rust if it folds, no matter how much maintenance I do. I could dunk the entire knife in a tub of oil and still rust it later that day.

That's one of the things that frustrates me about Spyderco. K390, Rex 45, Superblue, 52100....these are neat steels that I'd love to use.......in a fixed blade. Not wild about them in folders, especially since they seem to reserve DLC for stainless steels generally.

I'd like to see them use these carbon steels on fixed blades more frequently, because then I can actually use them. I can get away with less corrosion resistance on a fixed blade. Fewer places for moisture to get trapped and the sheath generally protects them from sweat.

All that being said, I've still managed to rust BD1 and similar steels in fixed blades going on rainy hikes.

I doubt I'll ever buy an M4 folder, but I'd love to see that steel used in something around the Street Beat's size.

Envious of you guys that don't ever have to worry about corrosion resistance. I scrub rust out of my Leatherman Micra at least once a year. And I keep them oiled too.
