PM2 Carbon Fiber S30V - clone

#1

Post by Outtasorter »

I think this looks clone-ish.
Saw a yojimbo 2 clone that looked like the same "carbon fiber"

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/232265931124

Messaged the guy. Maybe he'll tale it down.
Or maybe im just an *** causing trouble.

Maybe both.

Mainly wanted to get the subject line in this part of the forum just in case.

Heard spyderco never made a carbon fiber paramilitary 2 with s30v blade steel. Set me straight fellas.

Looks counterfeit to me. There's no s30v cf Para2. It's priced wrong. The carbon fiber is wrong. I like how the seller gives himself an out saying it was a gift and he's not a "pocket knife person."

hard to tell if the knife is a fake, could be a legit Para 2 with aftermarket scales. The lock release section clearly shows those are not Spyderco produced scales.

The box looks super fake though. None of my modern Spyderco boxes look anything like that.

Sal's maker mark is tilted in an odd fashion as well; but could be how I'm looking at it.

It looks exactly like one of these to me:

That would be my assumption until proven otherwise.

The seller is babusea
He sold that clone knife and listed another just like it for the same price $159. Again passing it off as a legitimate spyderco.
Same details - got as a gift - not a knife person.
What gets me is this guy has sold nearly 300 items and has a feedback rating of 100%

It doesn't look right to me either. Jimping doesn't look right, markings don't look placed properly, blade grind near the ricasso looks off versus how almost every Para 2 I've had looks.
