A more durable (and more expensive!) solution than plating would be to drill & tap the stainless steel scales and screw a set of gold scales to them.Depending on how much you wanted to spend,10k, 14k or 18k gold could be used. These could be made more ornate with a variety of textures or even hand engraving.
Geese yeah, but I don't have that much money. What I've been thinking of, is applying thin goldsheets on the handle, cause these are not too expensive. I get 25 sheets, 3.9" x 3.9" of 24k gold for about 25$
BTW Where do I get a Delica with gold oxide coated blade.
Last I looked John F Jensen had them. http://www.johnfjensen.com/spyderco.html
All he has is the worker, hunter, police and co-pilot.The police would be a good one to do.
I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff
Goldsheets won´t work!!
To thin, and you would have to ad a clear layer of fx. epoxy....
How about getting it gold platet at a Jewler?
Haven´t you seen gifts for kids, like "My First real shoe" platet in silver ?

Actually I wanted to ad a clear layer of fx. epoxy. Do you think this won't be enough. As I allready told, I don't have the money yet, to have it goldplatted by a Jeweler.
And no, I never saw silverplatted gifts for kids.
BTW my knife would be for display only, so...
