Your Favorite Big And Small Spyderco EDC

What is your favorite EDC pairing of a BIG Spyderco knife with a SMALL Spyderco knife?

I like pairing up a Spyderco Military with a Spyderco Delica 4. Of course, I find a Delica 4 pairs up nicely with any BIG :spyder:.

HAP40 Endura and ZDP Dragonfly.

I look forward to picking up an S110V Manix soonish, which will likely supplant the Endura.

One of my go to pairs for a while was aTechno as my big knife and Squarehead as my small knife. Which may sound funny because they're both small knives, but theres a 2.5" carry limit in Boston, so the techno was the biggest I could 'legally' carry.

My current favorite pair is a serrated Ladybug Hawkbill and Para 3.

Yojimbo 2, ZDP DFly *I like HAP40 and Superblue a lot, but ZDP in a regular production knife is still very cool to me, so for the value, it gets a higher spot on my favorite list. :cool:

My current favorite pair is made up of the S110V G10 Manix 2 and the Ladybug Hawkbill Salt.

I tend to find that they complement each other quite well:

Big and Small
Plain and Serrated
Leaf and Hawkbill
Robust and Lightweight

I find that a big/small pair brings useful versatility and makes it possible to rotate more often.

My favorite big and small pair is whatever larger knife I go with that day paired with a ZDP or HAP40 Manbug. Today it was the Para 3 and ZDP Manbug. Tomorrow? Who knows....

After thinking this over I'm in the same boat as Sharp. Usually whatever bigger knife I have for the day(pm2, gb2, para 3, caly, or chef) and the manbug HAP40.

Smallest knife I carry is a Pacific Salt. Largest I carry is a Szabo folder. I don't really pair Spydercos together with other spydercos, I pair my folder with a Leatherman Micra.

I used to carry a Tasman Salt SE with my normal sized folder but the more I use it the less I like the handle. These days I carry a SE Pacific Salt if I want a backup Spyderco....

My large knife rotates between the GB2, Mantra, Spydiechef, or Military. My small knife is almost always the Air with paper micarta scales or the DF2 H1 serrated.

Endura and a Dragonfly. VG10 and G-2 is as exotic as I have gotten with my EDC. Will carry my Manix XL on special occasions but for every day duty these dynamic duos have been saving my day, every day, for many many years. Thank you Sal!
