Most Apocalypse Spyderco?

#1

Post by carl3989 »

Even a cursory look at the "News Media" will have one believe the Apocalypse is due very shortly. So that got me thinking if I could have only one Spyderco which would be the best suited. I choose the Gayle Bradley 1. I know a fixed blade probably would be the best for those conditions but if it had to be a folder the GB1 is my choice. It's a beast and with its custom sheath for quick deployment how could I go wrong? What's your best folder fot the apocalypse? Image

Considering I would be able to at least go home and grab a small adequate sharpener, I'd keep the S110V PM2 that's already in my pocket, in my pocket. If the Apocalypse happens to happen on a weekend, I guess the M390 will do.... :)

It's hard to go wrong with the GB1. It's a great knife. but....
If I had to choose a folder then it would be my Cruwear Military. It doesn't see a lot of daily carry but it is a beast around a camp site.

I'd go szabo folder for ridiculous overbuilt folder and H1 spyderhawk. Then again I'd probably be carrying a stout fixed blade so maybe i want a slicer. I just don't understand what situation would prevent me from carrying multiple folders. Especially in an apocalypse setting i would want back ups.

Aqua Salt for a fixed blade.
Pacific Salt for a folder, and/or Endura or Police.

I am just waiting to see someone post "Manbug or Dragonfly" :)

TS didn't say folder.

When only choosing Spyderco:
Moran
Schempp Rock
Spydersaw

I would not know why I should choose folders, most are quite heavy compared to a good fixed blade.

Bradley 1 is a great choice, also what about a K-2? CPM-10V!

Yojimbo 2, S110v pm2
(pocket diamond hone)

without the diamond hone I'd probably grab an H1 or VG-10 blade for ease of "field sharpening".

Flint was around a long time before steel. Just pick up a big rock and throw it. :)

One of the Militarys, doesn't matter much which one. Been using it for ages and everything is muscle memory. Works great with gloves, cold fingers etc.. I'd grab a gun or 3 as well ;)
