Which Police Model was this?

Does anyone here know which Spyderco Police model it was, that had the black G10 handle, and the standard Police blade, with serrations, and the characteristic tip with false edge/swedge?

Sounds it is the first variant of C07GS from 1998, but it has flat saber grind blade instead of hollow grind, used on common stainless steel models. Do you have a picture of your specimen?

Peter, are you sure of that? The 1998 Spyderco Consumer Catalog shows a G-10 Police with the "typical" Police blade and says that both it and the all stainless version are hollow ground. No longer have mine, but that jibes with my recollections of it.

No Paul, now as you say it, I'm not sure of that. I trusted Spydiewiki and in this case it was a fault. I studied all the old catalogues from 1997 - 2002 and there is no hint for a flat saber grind blade, neither I never saw one in the wild. Thanks, I stand corrected and subsequently I will do a touch up at the Spydiewiki article.

That mat be a lightweight model that had no steel liners. Only way to tell is a side shot. I have that version in ATS-55 but I have been having a hard time finding the G-10 saber grind ATS-55 with steel liners. I also have the Plain and Serrated FFG versions in ATS-55. Need a picture?

Bottom row, fifth from the right. Unlined G-10 with flat saber grind, GIN-1 steel stamp. The first generation models I have are also flat saber grind no matter what Spydiewiki thinks.

Jack, I will cheerfully concede that you're far more knowledgeable about the Police than I am and, if you say your G-10 Police is flat saber ground, I'm sure it is. Just want to note that my comments were not based on Spydiewiki, they were based on the catalog page below.

In this case I trust the esteemed member yablonowitz more than a printing in a catalog (we all know that catalogs have the tendency, or should I better say tradition, of misinformation).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was an artist's rendering rather than an actual photograph of the knives. But Spydiewiki lists the first generation as hollow grind as well, and all three of the ones I have are flat saber grind. I've never gotten my hands on a PIG model, but they look flat saber ground in the pictures I've seen.
