I've carried one flavor of Endura or another for this very purpose over the years, and don't feel like I would be at any disadvantage thereby. I recently ordered an Amalgam that I will be carrying as part of my layered defensive equipment here in Afghanistan, but I don't anticipate every getting to the point of using it as a defensive tool (and I hope the heck I don't ever have to!)
On the subject of wish lists, though, I would absolutely love to see a Zome Green Endura Sprint with a flat ground black DLC blade!

I live in a state (Vermont) where I have the freedom to carry a gun, legally, without a permit. One of the reasons I don't routinely carry is that when I do, I feel a heavy burden of responsibility. I don’t want to bear that burden, unless I’m facing a real, known threat. That weight isn’t there when I carry a knife (although I am still responsible if I ever did something wrong with it).
Was out walking with my wife a few days ago, and saw a big German shepherd coming at us loose. I had my Sliverax in hand, closed. Fortunately, the owner came and called it off.
