Jurisdictions and laws aside, without a doubt it would be a Military. Second to that probably a Manix 2.

I'm going to have to also say Delica. I would put Stretch up there too, but delica is a good travel size, lightweight and capable.

Down here I carry one of my tip up Militaries more than anything else but that might not be the best choice for traveling in certain regions. For me, converting the Military to tip up transformed it from a great design that I never carried into my most carried folder.

My 204P PM2. Fantastic performance for the rather light maintenance required.

But this choice might change once I get my hands on the S30V Para3, which promises more than adequate performance without much maintenance at all, all in a smaller package.

I certainly don't have anywhere near as many Spyders as most here but, I reckon my ZDP Stretch takes some beating.

My little SE HB Salt Ladybug punches way above its weight. :)

The new police will certainly be a dependable high performance option. Its size might be perfect for an all around knife.

I have needed a bigger knife before but I have never said I wish I had a smaller knife!

Caly 3.5 (either variant) works for me.

If theres no size limit, hands down yojimbo. Real life I would take a Delica. To be on the ultra safe side of legal I'd would go for the titanium/elmax squeak.

PM2, or Delica, or DF2, or Endura in ZDP or M4 or S110V or Super Blue or Hap40, where applicable.

I think I would take a CF S90V Manix 2 (which I don't own). It's a medium sized knife which can do hard duty if needed and the choil allows it to serve in the role of a smaller knife. The black handle is pretty discrete, the CF is a hair lighter than the other sprints and exclusives, and I like the way S90V stays sharp and touches up easily. If I couldn't get one, I would take my M4 or Cruwear Manix2... or my Nishijin R :) Others I considered: my FG G-10 Endura, but not too good for small work and might scare people; CF Sage 3, great for people but not as good for hard duty. (Really would want to take my CF S90V Manix2 XL plus Kiwi 4 or SB Dragonfly.)
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

I find myself either carrying my stretch or gb2 more often then anything now, but my pm2 might be making a come back, or even the Para 3 when I get it :) too tough a question..

Delica!

Perfect size, light weight and cheap enough to use and replace if needed.

Either a Delica or an Endura.
