What's the oddest thing you've ever cut with your Spydie?

The other day, I was driving my car, passing a densed forrest. Suddenly - a squirrel jumped out and unfortunately got run over and killed. I stopped the car and examined the poor guy. Dead as a punk rocker (sorry fans ).

Well, what can I say. As a sportsfishing fan and a fly tying guy, I cut off the tail, using my Military (the hair on the tail is excellent fly tying material).

Simple question: What's the strangest thing you've ever cut?

DePaul,

Dead as a punk rocker?!?? Good to see the poor critter didn't go totally unused! Didn't know that about fly tying. Thanks for the info and the laugh. (Needed that!)

The Mouse works in a Clean-Room environment (Probably the cleanest Mouse in the house) and does mundane everyday chores. Haven't cut anything stranger than myself but some folks think that in itself is strange enough!

Onced used my G-10 Native to turn a kiddies plastic watering can (found at the side of the road) into a make shift petrol funnel when father ran out of fuel.

I shaved a friends head at a party once with my Calypso Jr FRN. Then as a after shave I put on rubbing alcohol on it. That sure surprised him!

What is the strangest that thing you have ever cut with anything!

Joyce, I cut myself also, but not with a Spyderco. We probably need some comic relief here! This should be an OT thread but here goes: As a young dude looking for artifacts, I searched the home and outbuildings of a farm that my uncle was running cattle on. The house was hundreds of years old and this one outbuilding contained a loom, a pile of womens high button shoes and a barrel (made from a hollowed tree trunk) which was full of rare medicine bottles with all the stuff inside and the lables intact. Some were broken. For some reason, I had my finger stuck in the neck of a broken bottle when these white faced hornets decided that I had disturbed their nest. I started getting stings all over my face. Instinctively, I brought my hand up with the broken bottle stuck to my finger and slapped my face. Result: a cut to my eyebrow requiring stitches in a county with one doctor on a Sunday when the doctor was having dinner with his family. In the end he took these nice little stiches and what a memory. Every time we hunt near there, it brings back memories. No snide remarks please. Jerry

Using my 50/50 Glasshart special Endura to trim that big layer of fat off a pork shoulder. Then I marinated the shoulder in honey mustard BBQ sauce for 24 hours. then into a crock pot(set on low)

YUMMY!!!!!!

BIG-TARGET>>>>>>>>>"The Matrix is a system Neo. That system is our enemy. And when you're inside, and look around, what do you see...businessmen...teachers...lawyers...carpenters...the very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured-so hopelessly dependent on the system-that they will fight to protect it."---Morpheus("The Matrix")

Well, I have cut my self enough times it doesn't seem strange anymore. Luckily I have never cut myself badly yet, (thinking back to a post from Joyce with a kitchen knife stuck in her calf, dancing to her heartbeat...ouch!). The strangest thing I can think of that I have cut with a would be...sheetrock, or maybe when I shaved my wife's legs with my Endura. She was a little nervous, but no cuts. I have cut myself plenty of times, but never anyone else, thank God.

Mark.

I've cut the plastic top of a Ramune bottle to get to the glass marble inside.

Ramune is a Japanese soda, sorta like sprite, that's very popular w/ kids. The bottle is pinched in the middle and the soda is kept in by pressure on a glass marble.

You open the drink by using a plastic top to push down on the marble. It then drops to the center of the bottle and rattles around while you drink. The original bottles are glass, but some newer ones are plastic.

The plastic ones allow you to unscrew the top that holds in the marble. The glass ones require significant cutting and sawing to remove the top. I think I used a leatherman wave saw, ats 55 Merlin SE, 440V Native CE, and my PE Dragonfly SS to get the last one off.

The pic below is decent, but Ramune normally comes in a light blue bottle.
