Let's See Your Knife Storage Systems.

#1

Post by TALON52 »

I've been storing my knives in 5" to 7", and larger pouches for years, but with my collection growing lately on a weekly basis, I had to come up with a new way of knife storage. While the pouches gave good protection for the knives, it was time consuming trying to find one, or another knife.

So out with the pouches...

Image

...and in with a better knife storage system for me. Plus I save a boat load of money. 44 pouches cost me around 350 plus dollars. I can buy 6 Pelican style cases for that amount of money, and hold as many as 264 knives.

Image

Now I can pick out the knife I want ASAP! No more hunting through many, many pouches!

Image

Counting the knives I've bought over the weekend, this storage case will be full, so I bought a second storage case the other day.

Can't help you since i have mine on display and none really, stored. The pelicans do seem like a good way though!

All my users are stored like this....tossed in a drawer. Got a few pre-need backups of my favorites that I keep in their original boxes in my closet. (Aqua Salt, Ark, Pacific Salt, Para 2, Police 3). I'm not too concerned with scratches and whatnot.

Most of my Spyderco collection is divided between a small curio cabinet...

and two large ones.

The remainder is stored in their original boxes, in a drawer.

• Measurements 9 3/8 x 5 3/8 x 4

Most folders fit fine back to front, but big boys like the Military need to sit horizontal.

Soooo jealous....

I only have a few knives and they just sit in a drawer in my bedroom with some watches and cufflinks. Each day I just grab the one I want to carry (usually the Ladybug Salt due to its size compared to my other Spydies)
In order of acquisition: Ladybug in H1 : Paramilitary in S110v : Rock Salt in H1 : Vallotton Sub Hilt CPM S30V : Mule Team 23 (CPM20CV) : Next on the wishlist - Dragonfly ZDP189

Thanks to everyone who contributes on this forum. I do not post often but love checking the forum every few days to read new posts and comments. It really is a great forum and I learn so much :)

As soon as I saw the photo I cringed and could hear the noise those drawers make when you open and close them!
I have a similar one, and every morning if I open and close more than one time, my wife is like "what the *!@&% just pick one knife already and stop with those drawers!"

Just a hollow plastic screech squeal...

Ha yeah maybe I'll have to service my shelves! Keep it quiet, and in turn keep the "why so many knives" conversation quiet. :)
Maybe I'll try some Triflow on it, have a bunch of that. Don't want to get them all greasy though.
