The Spyderco Byte issue of August 2016 said: "Maxamet Native® 5 Lightweight, which should be available by the end of the year."

So, it's probably very close to being released.

I've had the Maxamet Mule long enough to decide that this steel goes above and beyond what I'm used to. So, yea. I'll get one of these in spite of the fact that I have no issues with my ZDP189 Delica that does pretty much the same thing. So much for being a minimalist..

I am struggling with some of the new models or just getting this Native. My last purchase was the N5LW S110V and before that I never liked the Native. Now I am a fan and really like what I have heard about Maxamet. I suppose it is more minimalist to get a second of the same than something different altogether??

This is the only Native I have been remotely interested in. I hope it comes out sooner rather than later.

I already pulled the trigger and pre ordered through knife center. I am enjoying Maxamet so much I had to have a native.

Hopefully, we're getting close to the Native5 Maxamet Lightweight Gray FRN being released!

I wasn't even interested in this one... until I got the Never Summer Native 5. My first native 5. I was wrong about the native 5, this knife is awesome. Now I have to find some more $$ so I can order one of these too. It's like a cross between a D'Fly and a Delica, and I love that you can get your thumb flat on the spine like you can on the yojimbo.

Native5 Maxamet was supposed to be out by the end of 2016. So, it's about three months past due now. Anyone know when it'll be out?

One of my top 3 most anticipated knives for this year.

Can anyone from spyderco give us an update? Anything? I feel lost. Who am I?

That's an old school photoshop job, for sure. :)

I don't know how you got those scratches on the side of the blade. The steel should resist scratches from most things in the world! :p

Is this even still happening? The lack of word from Spyderco makes it seem like they're just sort of letting it fade away...
