I've always loved the holidays and as I get older one of things I've come to appreciate most is the giving and kindness to others. That's something I try to carryout through the rest of the year in my personal life and I always hope that others will pay it forward to someone else.

There are a few things that I like about the holidays; first and foremost is seeing my family. My three brothers are all scattered throughout the country and one has been working at CERN in Switzerland for the past year, so we all hardly see each other. Christmas is usually guaranteed that we will all get together for a few days and this year is no exception.

Secondly...snow, lights, and the "holiday spirit". It's a beautiful time of the year--snow and lights add an appealing visual element, while people just seem happier.

Some of my favorite parts of the holidays are the way the house smells like a Christmas tree, the music, and seeing the "magic" of the holidays in my kids' faces on Christmas day.
