Lil' Native

#1

Post by ejcr98 »

At the 2016 Amsterdam Meet a small Native (approx. 2.5" blade length) with a compression lock was discussed.

Any news on this knife? Name? Specs? Steel? Scales/handle material?

Excited about this one!

Nobody has heard any news?!

I believe Demoncase reported it as being a definite winner that was being contemplated in three models: a slipit, the comp lock and a backlock.

That's my hope too. I've been waiting patiently for more news on the Lil' Natives.

I am very much interested in a compression lock Native, and would love to see it employed on any size Native - small, regular or large! :D

I would love to see the Lil' Native with a comp lock in an open pillar construction Sage 1 or Sage 5 CF scales and S35VN or S110V. If the blade length were just a tad below 2.5" it would be my perfect edc carry.

Wasn't there going to be a 3" blade compression lock that was based on the Native called the Shaman?

So, in sum, an elongated Native with a compression lock? Where was the proto shown to the public? Blade Show? Amsterdam?

My memory is not as great as it used to be. I believe it was shown at once at Amsterdam, but possibly at Blade as well.

Lil' Native- This is cast-iron winner: 3 different variants of a smaller Native, with slightly differing builds- One slippie (YES!), One Comp locker and one normal back lock!
Native XL- comp locker- lovely sculpted handles.

this sounds awesome. Like a golden version of the D'fly. Honestly I'd rather just have a compression lock D'fly.

A DF with a comp lock sounds good. If the blade length is is increased to be just under 2.5" and carbon fiber scales or navy blue frn scales are used and the steel is upgraded from vg-10, then it sounds great, imho.

My only qualm about a "Lil Native" (or Manix) is that a 2.5"ish blade with a choil doesn't give you much cutting edge. The Mini Nilakka seems like it will work even as a bit of a toy knife as it's 100% cutting edge.

To each his/her own but I have a number of small Spydies and my go-to tiny knife is a box cutter.

Giving a bump to this thread.

Any updates on this knife at this year's Amsterdam Meet?

Are any of you interested in it? I for sure am.

The Native already seems small enough to me, but a smaller one might be cool too. I'll have to wait and see what it looks and feels like.
Time for another :spyder:!

I'm definitely still interested in a Lil' Native--regardless of lock style used. I love the N5, but I think a Lil' Native would be a huge success.
