Off the top of my head I have 13, if I include my Bug, Honey Bee, and Grasshoppers. I have my eye on at least 3 more this year, but it might end up being more.

Re: Number of Spyderco Knives in your collection
Probably need to make an exception for Q's as well, I quit at about 36, but there must be at least 70 versions of them. :)Larry_Mott wrote:Ok, Paul, *except* the Kiwis then :) I think you got whay i meant anyway, when i see peoples huge collection of Millies or Pm2's i generally find it hard to tell several of them apart at all.
As for the rest, very true. I have to look at tang markings or turn on a bright light to tell a BRG FRN/ZDP-189 Stretch from a black FRN/VG-10 one.

These are one of my favourites :)The Deacon wrote: Oh, and my collection is still "Para Military free". :p
And Paul never fails to impress and inspire me.
My Kiwis are getting more and more pocket time as I grow older/ more mature. My Kopas definitely, and my Kiwis starting to get more 'me time'.
I'm at around 250 at the moment, or so says my spreadsheet.
I have had a couple of major culling sessions in the past years and probably got rid of around 150-200 of the ones I didn't think I'd use. I regret selling some, but that has enabled me to 'collect' more Persians, Kopas, and Kiwis :D

Re: Number of Spyderco Knives in your collection
I have 53 total with #54 on the way. Most duplicates: 5 Caly 3s and 4 Calypso Jrs.
Once #54 gets here, Native will be tied with Calypso Jr @4, although only 3 of them are Native 5s; one is an older model.
I love that other folks have spreadsheets to keep track of their collections (and their want lists), too! :D

Admirable. Alas, I can only strive for such practicality. :)

My wife is pretty anti-collectionistic, so I really, really need to justify my choices for their ecological niches.roger-roger wrote:Admirable. Alas, I can only strive for such practicality. :)hoimin wrote:2 for me: Bradley Bowie, GB2

I've had more in the past, and at the peak it was... 4 Spydies, with 2 of them on the selling block. There's still a slot open for a more formal/office carry and I have some pretty set ideas about it that Spyderco doesn't have an option for at the moment.

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

3. I bought my first Spydie two years ago. So far, I've bought twice as many for family (6) as I have for myself (3).
...but with this year's offerings, there's really no way that holds. :D

Re: Number of Spyderco Knives in your collection
So far, two. But I just started this past Saturday.
Planning on picking up two more in the next couple of months to establish a group of "core players."
I will be a user rather than a collector so I don't see myself ever having more than 7 or 8. I'll will try to cover all my personal niches and then maybe a couple of versatile models that overlap and can go anywhere and perhaps a couple with different steels than are readily available so I can expand my knowledge and skill level.
Ok ... maybe more like 10-12 (I think).

I jumped on the Spyderco bandwagon about seven months ago. I now have seven - well six technically since the Dragonfly is EDC for my wife.

Tenacious - Black G10 - 8Cr13MoV

I need to really think about why I'm buying these - but I'm sure I'm not done yet.

More than I need (about 40), less than I want (that one there, and that one, and this one here).
