Manix titanium ball bearing cage

#1

Post by freebird610 »

Hey guys I found a guy in Ukraine that does a lot of stuff with titanium. I have never like the plastic ball bearing cage on my manix two. I asked him if he could make a titanium ball bearing cage. He says he can he just needs some more people to commit to buying some before he will do it. So who else is interested in getting one of these along with me? Here is a link to a picture of what they would look like. I'm not sure what the price will be but this guy is pretty reasonable. Anyway just respond or email me or pm me if your interested in getting one and we can hopefully get enough so he will make a batch.

Potentially very interested- based on ball-park figure for 'reasonable' in the terms of cost ;)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

The link should work now but they would look just like the black plastic ones only they would be titanium. He isn't looking for money up front just wanted to know how many people would potentially buy one. I have emailed him again asking the price and am waiting to hear back. I'll post that when I hear back.

I'd definitely be interested, I've been hoping someone would do this for a while.

It would depend on what the final price is though. Ti isn't exactly cheap to machine.

This is one of my favorite locks, so I am in! Probably start with 1 first to check the fit and finish. If it's really good, then I potentially need more...

Seems like a good idea. This would be a cool piece to have anodized. :D
