Cobra Hood.

Does it brings serios perfomance improvement?

Is there any sence in adding this detail to all Spydercos?

I have the Salsa. It has the Cobra Hood and I really like it on there.
I think it is best put on that size knife and larger.
It may just be in the way on smaller knives.

I find the Cobra Hood to be pretty cool. I have a Salsa as well, and find the Hood to be a breeze to open...sometimes I don't even use the Hole. At first, I thought that it would catch on the lip of my pocket when taking it out, but gladly found out that it isn't affected at all.

I'm eagerly waiting to check out the Cobra Hood on the ATR, when I get around to ordering one. <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

I did have problems with it catching on jeans when putting it in my pocket.Taking it out was OK.

Have you guys tried waving it? If its catching on your pockets a wave should be possible.

It works for those with big thumbs. But the hood is one of those things that you either love it or hate it!!

Had my Salsa for just about a month now.

I love the cobrahood. It allows even less thought when opening a spydie, and gives a secure spot to place your thumb for tip pressure.

Although I wouldn't like to see the cobra hood on all Spydies, it does work very well on the Salsa. Like VW said, even less thought is needed in opening the knife.

Well, it may be useful on smaller knives. you just slide your finger forward, and you couldn`t miss it( Missing the only hole is possible, especially when you try REALLY quickly open it.)
And why it is not good AMERIKAN idea? Did you meant that in any other country this idea is stiil good?

The design on the Salsa is such that the cobra hood is vertically aligned with the back if the cutting edge.

So no, the cobra hood doesn't effect deep cuts. In fact the Salsa is one of the best small knives I have found for deep cuts, it has the cutting capability of a much bigger knife.

We have found that not everyone "likes" the same features in a given product. That's why we have variety.

We have no plans to put the Cobra Hood on all models, but some are scheduled.

Only the Salsa, ATR and Assist models have Cobra Hoods.
