Could you tell me how corrosion resistant this is compared to let's say, ... 8cr13mov, 440c
Any other information about bd1 you could share? I know nothing about bd1 really.

I've tested it in saltwater on the kayak and corrosion resistance is pretty good. A bit better than s30v but not quite as good as s110v. Edge retention is decent. Something like vg10...maybe a step below. It sharpens up very easily and takes a very nice edge. It is a bit below the threshold for what I like when it comes to edge retention in a working knife like a fillet knife, but I find it perfectly satisfactory for an edc knife. For EDC, I would probably choose it over s110v but I prefer steels that fall in between the two. (in edge retention and ease of sharpening)

You can't put 8cr13mov and 440c in the same basket. That aside, CTS-BD1 has better corossion resistence than 8cr13mov IMO.Easy to sharpen with a decent edge retention.Long story short: a decent edc steel.
