Long-term huge Spyderco knives collection...

#1

Post by tap78 »

Hi all :)
I know, that selling is prohibited on that forum, but as the other topics with special deals appear sometime I would like to inform You, that lately one of long-term collectors revealed himself while trying to liquidate his huge collection of Spyderco knives (200+). Witold has a very rare models that I've seen once or more in the interenet... but he's rather "real-world" guy than internet creature :)
I think that he would not be angry if I'll share some photos of his collection before he would sell them all... :-(
*EDITED - Taz*

let's see some of his gems...

Indeed- Likewise, feel free to PM also :D
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

In before the lock lol.

I'm not interested in buying anything, but that's a nice collection. I can't really relate to the collector mentality. I could maybe see myself wanting all the Kopa or Kiwi variants, but I have no interest in buying a dozen Delicas just because the handle is a different shade of FRN. To each his own I guess.

I don't know if that post can be qualified as a sale offer... it is rather something similar as topic about occasion deals in STP an others...
There is a possibility to get rare Spyderco models discontinued long time ago in "new" condition so I inform You all...

I don't know how my previous post will be interpreted by moderators... we''ll see :)

Maybe a sidetrack - but, has anyone heard of NOS Spydies in Japan? I'm going to Tokyo in May and i'd dearly love to pick up som old gold, even at MSRP from the time they were still around :)

If this isn't advertising a sale, I'm not sure what is.

Not sure I'd call that a "huge" collection, a good start though ;)

It's a nice collection.

However, I'm wondering just which models he has that are "very rare." I didn't see any that I thought were very rare, other than possibly the tan Endura 3 (although I might just not have seen one before). The Golden-made Starmate, the Kopas, and the other assorted pieces are nice, but not what I would qualify as "very rare."

I might just not be looking at the pictures enough to see what hidden treasures there are, or it could be objective, depending on what one classifies as "rare." (For example, I would define very rare as maybe fewer than 100 pieces made, such as my 1-of-50 CCW Q and 1-of-25 FFG Pilot Manix.)

Very nice collection. It is a shame your friend has to sell these. Very sad... :(
