Maybe I'm not understanding what you're referring to but the font and curved script looks the same as what's already on the Sage 1 & 2. The Sage 3 is also curved but smaller and off center. I don't have a Sage 4 but looking at the mothership's website the script appears to be the same as what's on the 1 & 2.Evil D wrote:2) Anyone else excited over the change in Spyderco font on the tang? I know that's a tiny detail but I like the curve in the script on that Sage. On one hand I'd kinda rather the script be as minimal as possible, but on the other hand if it's gonna be there may as well make it look good.
Not sure yet if I'll be getting a Sage 5 (yeah I probably will) but they do look great. I've already decided I'll be getting one of the mini-PM's. Originally I said I didn't want to end up a drawer full of knives I don't use but I'm already way past that point. What's a few others in the rotation? My bank account is cursing you Spyderco!!!! :D

Could be right, I only have the 3 and it's different than the 5 so it stood out to me.Sharp Guy wrote:Maybe I'm not understanding what you're referring to but the font and curved script looks the same as what's already on the Sage 1 & 2. Oh man, I hope the production Sage 5 will be exactly like these photos. It's got everything I could ask for, except maybe CTS-204P steel!

I am so curious about the "pivot bushing" on the Sage 5 ! I had some nasty experiences with a few of my Para2s in the past !

Shame, we'll have to wait a little longer to see it again.. Didn't sound like production was very far away though. :)Mr Blonde;15871615 wrote:Sorry, but the PM3 is not on my 'approved to publish list' which probably means it's too far from production for Spyderco to show.

Spyderco 2016 Concept Model – Tadao Terada Kitchen Knife
This one’s also known as the K11 Cook’s Knife in the 2016 Spyderco product catalog, so I was nicely surprised to learn that this ‘numbered’ kitchen knife was actually designed by a knife maker called Tadao Terada. The Terada Kitchen Knife handled like a very elegant, thin and light kitchen knife. This thing is probably a veritable laser in the kitchen. I can’t wait to get my own to use in the kitchen, and I’d love to see a serrated version of this design as well.

Spyderco 2016 Production Sample – Ed Schempp Rock Salt
The Rock Salt is back, for a sprint run. To me, this is a familiar design and I like the bright orange scales. I can imagine this sprint run would make for a cool knife option in a bugout bag or survival kit, with its rustproof steel and bright orange handle.

The Jumpmaster 2 and K11 are now at the top of my list. These are both easy calls because I know they will both see plenty of actual use.

Spyderco 2016 Production Sample – Snap-It
I like how Spyderco uses the Salt series to continue, or bring back, classic designs. The Pacific Salt and Salt 1 knives are, in a way, ‘reboots’ of the classic Endura and Delica. The Salt version of the Snap-It is a renewed version of the classic Snap-It. The FRN finish on the handle felt distinctly different from the other Salt folders, it had a rougher texture. Together with the rubber insert, this rougher finish should make for a pretty secure handle. The yellow FRN hook that creates the ‘snap-it’ name, is supported by a steel or titanium frame (I forget which) to increase strength.

Back to the photoshop-kitchen for me, to cook up the last batch that I'll hope to post tomorrow!
Re: Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report of Spyderco Prototypes
Wouter thank you.
I love Schempp. Due to temporary insanity I missed original Rock Salt, but this look even better. Another must have.
I do not camp, but may be I should start :) :D But then I will have dilema, which Rock to take: Schempp or Salt?

Oh boy, I really like that Salt Snap-It. :) I am planning to get both versions--PE and SE. These should be great for boating season! I can already envision clipping one of these to my life jacket... :D
Edit: If this model does well on the market, I wonder if we might eventually see a Remote Release Salt? Mmmmmm :)
