It's a joint effort by Sal and Eric.

Maybe it's just because the lines on the UL are thicker... What do you think?
I would not expect them all to be identical.

Each of Spyderco's half dozen or so makers puts the tang stamps, :spyder: logo, and "maker's mark" (if any) on the knives they produce. Equipment differs, so the finished product differs. Tang stamp fonts and sizes differ between makers, and even between models produced by a single maker. The same holds for :spyder: logos. Some have little, if any, detail, some consist of a series of parallel lines, and the ones from Spyderco's maker in Taichung look like a fingerprint when enlarged. So, to me at least, it's reasonable to expect that there would be differences in Sal's mark.

Really curious to learn why there are both Sal's and Eric's signature on the pm2, who did what, and if there are other spydies that have 2 or more signatures on'em...?

Thanks in advance!
The new Native Chief also has both Sal and Eric on it. I dont know if they say divide the knife 50/50 and design thus why both signatures are on the knife, if I had to guess they both worked together on the design of the knife and it may be more of Sal's knife with some help of Eric or the other way around but they mark both signatures on the blades to signify their collaboration.

Edit: Didn't realize this is like a 3 year old thread before posting lol

Does anyone remember this? I think there was a video with Sal discussing makers marks on knives and why the didn't put one on the Native. I recall hearing something about this but can't remember the details or find the source

They're both on it because both designed the knife. Not sure who did what. I bet if you dig through the forum at about the time it was released, it was probably talked about. I believe both signatures are also on the Para 3.
