Manix 2 110V modification question.

#1

Post by HarleyXJGuy »

Hate to muddy up the boards with this but I was talking with someone who transplanted their S110V blade into a G 10 Manix and said they would do one for me.

Evil maybe?

If that's your thing, go for it. Though the Blurple model (SP101GPDBL2) is about to drop and available for pre-order at KC. Personally I love the LW version. I hope the Blurple has skeletonized liners.

I would never own one of those monstrosities; it is just straight up blasphemy.

I'd be happy to do yours Harley, but remember only one knife comes out of my transplants, not two. The lightweight S110Vs have very delicately given up their blades without a scratch on them, the frames however didn't take to the crowbar prying too well :D.

Regarding the new S110V M2 in blurple, I have not seen any word on whether they plan to use skeletonized liners or not in that particular variant. It does show up as ~3 g lighter in the catalog, but you can counter that with the fact that all the standard production M2s use full liners. Only the sprints and exclusives have gotten the skeletonized liners to date (and not all of them either, the pink sprint came with full liners). I'll try to track down the weight of a skeletonized version.
Do you happen to have any spare cages? I accidentally broke the plastic nub that sticks out the back when I was cleaning my M4 :(

I think we talked about it, I just highly doubt I can save the FRN handles. If someone has a drill press and will do it for you, you can find the right size pins and put it back together with a S30V blade. I killed my LW getting the blade out. Now I have a S30V blade and nothing to put it in.

Ok good deal.

I will get with one of you once I complete moving across the country. Twice.

I don't care about saving the LWs handle.
