ULIZE FIXED PROTO
Hello together, I just finished the first Ulize fixed proto and I am curios about what you are thinking. In this case the blade is from C100 with screwed on red G10 handles.
Best wishes Uli

Great looking blade! Reminds me a bit of a more refined Schempp Rock.

Love it. Fit it in a thin deep carry sheath that can be comfortably carried inside the waistband and I am in.

I dig it! I too am curious about its intended use.

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
Intended uses? It's a knife guys. Oh, you meant is it a SD piece? Well considering the folding Ulize was never outright called SD, I doubt this will be called one. Looks like a great fixed blade for EDC to me. The handle could be a helluva lot smaller and still work based on the folder, just my opinion

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
Very nice work, Uli! I like it. Would you prefer to keep it as a hollow-grind if it went into production?

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
It looks good. It looks like a faithful fixed blade version of the original. The red handle threw me off since that color is usually reserved for trainers. I would personally like to see more red handles, or at least maroon. Other than that it is a little large for an EDC knife for me and I do not really care for recurve blades. Those last two are just personal preferences and not a knock on your design. I do love negative blade angles.
Are the specs mostly the same as the Ulize folder? It hard to tell from the pic if it is just closer or also a little bit bigger.

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
I've believed for some time now that "recurve" blades would garner a lot more popularity if they would ever make one like this model available in full Spyderedge. I've always liked the ULIZE design and this fixed blade which seems to have a more hefty and solid construction I do believe would really stand out in full Spyderedge.
Spyderco has really taken a big step in the fixed blade sector with this one>> but I would really like it in Spyderedge especially.

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
I've always been a fan of the folder, so I automatically like the fixed blade. I agree with JD, both need some teeth.

You nailed it, JD. SE would be perfect on this. :D

Re: ULIZE FIXED PROTO
LIKES:
- Wider blade than Ulize folder
- Slightly wider handle than folder?
- Small Spyderhole
DISLIKES:
- Handle could be shorter.
- Red color scales. I prefer more discrete/neutral colors...black, dark green, foliage green, dark brown, etc.
QUESTIONS:
- Blade thickness?
- Sheath type (leather or kydex)?
- Lanyard hole?
Love the Ulize folder and highly interested to see the fixed come to fruition. But also like to see a Ulize Folder v2 that would incorporate that wider blade and handle!
