there was a technical problem, when it got fixed the posts multiplied for some reason. thanks carlos for fixing problem. i ran a knife shop for 6 1/2 years ,and sold most of the major brands, and no one ever had their knife rockwell tested .it,s kinda like buying a new car , then dissasembling it to make sure every thing is what the maufacturer says it is. i just find odd. maybe it,s just me. sorry no camera hook up here on web tv.

Good Day, Simona,

You have to be getting close to some kind of record for a continuing thread - even counting the duplicate posts.
As I write this, your thread is up to 120 posts, of those you have 62. Not sure I have seen one longer.
keep posting on. I for one have truly enjoyed the discourse.

I'm 100% red, white and blue. Born and raised in Fla. I lived in Prague from 1993-98 and am now married to a lovely Czech woman. We're expecting a lovely little Czech-American baby in February. So as you can see, no I haven't entirely divorced myself from the "old country." Not by a long shot. Prague's a wonderful city, AllenETreat, I suggest you move there as soon as possible. The rents are cheap in the Karlin neighborhood now.

PS: I'll bet $10,000 that every plate of food you order at restaurants here in Florida gets spit into. Think about it.

Interesting story this "Simona - creative genius from Praque" dreamed up, huh? It's hard not to make a comment. And you know everyone has been reading this thread with much interest!

35 years in knives, you say! And no one ever had one tested? Wow I guess that there is a first for everything! As far as the car thing goes, as your example, but wasn't
Cadillac putting Chevy engines into there cars at one time and got in hot water for?
So guess people really do check this things out!

Hey it's too bad you don't have one of those web cam. thingies! Than we would know for sure it this sweet thing is just a myth, hoax, bad joke or maybe real!!!

What a humbling experience it will be!

Nice talkin' with ya,

ken: i think it was oldsmobile if i remember correct, long time ago. i just find it odd that someone buys a knife , then rushes to the local hardnest testing center, and says i don,t think my blade is as hard as the manufacturer says. i wonder where my test center is ? the atomic plant across the river in ky. probally has the equiptment. maybe i,ll take a bunch of my knives over there. i can see it now , sir i have this pick up truck load of knives that i need tested. call the men in the white coats, we,ve got a live one here. lol . "and thats all i got to say about that " [ forest gump ] later..

? what does it all mean?

I don't see why you are all so sceptical about the existence of Simona and whether this is her "true" identity ... Don't you have women on the other side of the Atlantic? Are none of them online, good looking or with a sharp tongue?

Hint: Take a look at Simonas profile. Locate her e-mail address. Isolate the domain name. Check out the webpages of that domain. I think you'll find Simona runs a somewhat unusual business on her pages, but she seems very real to me ...

Simona, good luck on your new knife, and have a nice skiing trip!

While I'm here, not lurking as I usually am, let me complain about waiting for my shipment from Linda. The wait is the hardest part of buying knives from overseas ...

I worked as receiving inspector in QA for an electronics company in 1968. I remember we had a hardness tester. No big deal to stick a knife under and pull the lever.

Anyway, Simona, I hope you recover fully and post freely. You are as welcome as a new Spyderco model with colored handles. (Was that as complimentary as it was meant?)

The picture below is a hardness tester for all the flamers.

edit... added a Joyful Girl picture
