My aging eyes do like analog (haven’t weaned myself off digital quite yet, as posted earlier). Yours is about as analog as can be. I like it. My father called such a railroad watch.

I like simple dials too. Partly due to aging eyes and partly due to the Zen of simplicity.

I wish citizen made the one with the orange striped band with radio. I like the simplicity. I just prefer a watch that sets itself with the atomic clock. Very nice collection of watches and knives.
the radio signal doesn’t reach hawaii, so that feature is wasted on the two of mine that have it. however, i really like that watch anyway. it has a very clean face and a nice retro aviator feel. i also managed to snag it from amazon for just over $50, so it was a great value. :)
Hey Ladybug93 - you can get a phone app which broadcasts the atomic clock through your phone speaker.

In Australia we're too far away to reliably get the radio signals too.

Every couple of weeks I switch on the app, turn my phone speaker up high, and sync my G-Shocks which have the Multi Band 6 feature. You also have to make sure the watch is set to the same timezone as the atomic clock broadcast you use. It only takes a minute or two.

The app is called Clock Wave.
it worked!!! thanks, cambertree!

No worries, I’m glad it worked for you! :)

Yeah, it’s cool to be able to utilise that function if you live out of range of the standard atomic clock broadcasts. ;)

nice one! i almost bought that same watch, but went with the protrek instead because of the ability to readily use a nato strap. here’s mine with my manix in the woods. it’s now synced thanks to you. :)

My pair doesn't have as much character though ;)
This is a rather new SKX which replaces one i beat the crap out of for 15 years and finally died. Its being rehabbed with a 4R35 transplant.

Many years ago, I gave a G-Shock to a nephew assigned to an Army bridge company.
He wore it in the Tigris River.

Nice band. This is my second 173. The first one got to a point where it would stop for no reason and didn't keep time reliably. I blame myself for taking it apart and swapping movements with other cases, trying to regulate it myself... etc.

This has been what I've used for the last few weeks. These two knives accompany each other well! The watch is a sinn 104 on a strap I made myself.

Cool watch and knife, and I like the Hawaiian background foliage. :)

Yeah, after not wearing a watch for many years, my brother gave me a Victorinox Maverick. It’s a great watch, very durable, but whenever I banged it against metal at work, I’d worry about gouging or scratching the face. In truth it just seems to shrug off most impacts and scrapes, but I got a G-Shock anyway for work use.

Image

I could well sympathise with newbies to Spyderco knives by the bafflement I felt when trying to learn about and choose a G-Shock. There were so many models that I would end up confused and not buying anything.

Finally I narrowed it down to the Rangeman, Mudmaster, or a Pro Trek. I ended up going with the Rangeman over the Pro Trek for having the G-Shock toughness, and it’s a bit smaller than the Mudmaster.

Yeah I haven’t tried a NATO strap, but I’ve had the Jaysandkays two piece strap for about a week, and it fits much better and is more comfortable than the resin strap. The strap also allows installation with the original Casio screw in steel bars, rather than the flimsy backup springbars it comes with.
