Yeah I don't care for that band on those navihawks. I wanted one with a stainless band because I sweat a lot and like to swim. I found some older navihawks with a more appealing band but I haven't gotten around to getting one yet.

I'm debating if I want to try a nato strap.
Please post some pics if you ever do. I’ve been wanting to do the same. I just wish I had a local place to actually handle one first. Instead of buying online. That’s how I ended up with a silly “mesh” band in the first place.
not a navihawk, but here’s my skyhawk on a nato from a few pages back.

Yeah I've been eyeing the sky hawk lately because it comes with a metal band I could stand. Where did you get the nato strap and what size is it?

Just found out they make a blue angels wall clock too.

If a spring bar breaks out on a metal band, the watch is gone.
A NATO band allows the watch a second chance to stay on the wrist by the remaining spring bar.
A consideration for swimming and such.

i got my straps from blushark. they’re out of a lot of stuff right now, but i’ve been pleased with the quality. if you wait until they have a sale, you can get percentages off plus free straps, depending on how many you order. i’ve also ordered from cheapest nato straps, but i’m still waiting on those to arrive.

if the navihawk is the same as the skyhawk (probably is), the lug width is 22mm. i have four watches with the same lug width and about ten straps to rotate between them.

if you go with blushark, i really like their orca line. the one i posted a picture of is the original line. both are fine, but the orcas look and feel a little nicer.

A person would think that the production budget of the James Bond movie Thunderball
would preclude a fashion faux pas like this one on Sean Connery's hairy wrist.

I wish citizen made the one with the orange striped band with radio. I like the simplicity. I just prefer a watch that sets itself with the atomic clock. Very nice collection of watches and knives.

the radio signal doesn’t reach hawaii, so that feature is wasted on the two of mine that have it. however, i really like that watch anyway. it has a very clean face and a nice retro aviator feel. i also managed to snag it from amazon for just over $50, so it was a great value. :)

Yeah I'll have to grab one eventually. Do you spend much time in the water with your watches? Mine hasn't made a year yet but it's been to Waterpark and light swimming. Haven't gone to the beach yet but it's inevitable and I'll be in more pools as the weather warms up. I just recall citizen recommending to have the watch serviced every year to 18 months if it sees a lot of water.
