couple weeks ago I forgot this watch at home so I swung by a store and bought a $15 watch to wear for the day.

Ended up liking it better than the gshock because the stopwatch is easier to use, the light is better, its lighter weight and less than 1/5th the price so its easier to justify buying different colors.

I have wanted to upgrade my digital G-Shock to an analog version, but I have heard the light function is far worst. Is that the case with yours?

By the way, there is nothing but respect for a cheap Timex or Casio. Those things will keep going and going.

the $15 digital casio has a much, much better light than the $100 gshock. I like that black gshock a lot but the larger screen, larger buttons and better light make the w218 a superior work watch for me. I use the stop watch at least 10 times a day at work.

I used to switch between the gshock and a seiko sne331 on off days, butlately I've just been wearing the w218 7 days a week.

I also like the cheap digital Casio watches. The A700 and W217 can be gotten at Walmart for $40 together and are better than my analog/digital Gshock that had the hands and digital portion telling different times. I like Gshock but will stick with the digital only ones to keep the more effective light.
