took me a while to find a watch band that was the same shade.

i see myself carry both for a long time. they each give me that "last one i'll ever need" feeling.

Happy to have my turtle back on my wrist after the factory bracelet failed. Luckily the bracelet took the impact damage, the watch is fine. Blue Uncle Seiko waffle FTW!

yep!

tempted to swap in a fresh blade from another blacked out pacific 2 though. this one looks more gray than black these days. it has a ticn finish and the other black pacific 2 I have has a darker blade that feels closer to dlc type coating. it'd look even better.

NO!!! The worn blade has awesome character.

That is just my opinion, but I am right! ;)

edit to add - that is a really nice watch - knife combo.

Nice! The Turtle is my favourite diver, and is almost always on the wrist.

can't imagine carrying anything else these days.

it's nice waking up and grabbing my wallet, keys, knife etc. instead of going through the process of picking one out for the day.

same thing with watches. I put my watch box in the attic. I found the one for me.

People said the same things when digital watches came out. I don't think analog watches will ever die out. They haven't in 50+ years.
If it wasn’t for the Swatch watch it was looking pretty grim.
Not many Swiss brands survived the Quartz crisis. Most brands are owned by 3 majority companies.
Most have kept their heritage but are so far from their former glory or beginnings.

Above is a quick read on how Swatch saved the mechanical watch.

Nothing beats a vintage wrist watch.

sorry they're not in the same shot. this has been my vacation carry for the past week.

Garmin fr945 + ce resilience scale swap.

nice thing about them is they need no maintenance during a two week vacation. Garmin will hold a charge that long under regular day to day conditions and the Resilience will keep an edge that long without breaking a sweat.

Really been testing the corrosion resistance of coated 8Cr. Was worried enough that I packed a Pacific Salt as well, but haven't touched it all trip. Besides a rusty bug it's been flawless in this regard.
