Post by Stroppy »

did anyone check the weight of this knife in the cat, its 2.7 oz!

native 5 g10 is a full oz. heavier @ 3.7 oz.

the native 5 ltw is 2.5 oz.

i would like to see a user version of the native 5 with carbon scales.

I think the milling might be what causes the weight reduction. I could be wrong though.

I recall a thread where it was stated that the Fluted CF Native had no liners which could account for the significant weight reduction.

At knifeCenter they also have a Fluted CF with s90v, pre-order 251$ I believe, still a bit pricey but cheaper than the 40th...but I didn't see it in the 2016 product Guide.

I love liners, never cared about weight of the knife. I am not sure that I like no liners idea.

It looks awesome, but I'm not sure it looks $350 awesome. Close, though. It'll be a tough call.

KC has a photo of it now I believe.

Absolutely not. Liners are the most important part of the knife, especially brass liners :)
Do not tell me that you never noticed that liners improving edge retention and ergos? :) :D
