Older knife

Post by KLKAK »

I'm a backcountry guide here in Alaska. This past summer I found this knife about 20 miles from the nearest road. I'm looking for help identifying it and about when it was made and what type steel. The blade is 2.5in and over all length is 6.5in. Thank you for your help.

It's a C05 Economy. The steel is Aus-6, and it was made sometime between 1984 and the late '80s.

Thanks for the fast response. No telling how long this knife had been laying out there on the tundra. It show a lot of use but it is tight. No rust and it is still sharp.

I wondered where my knife was!

Just kidding. Nice find. I left a nice knife up there. Somehow it fell in the ocean near a glacier off Seward and pulled me in with itself.
