What if...

What if you could transform your favorite Spyderco folder into a fixed blade? Which one would you choose? For me, I'd love to see a fixed blade DF, maybe just 30% larger.

Some of the ethnic series could be cool like the schempp bowie.

You can. Epoxy.

How about a Manix fixed blade?

I know this would probably never happen but I'd love to see it the other way around with a Southfork folder as a companion to the fixed blade.

I was just thinking this the other night. I'd like to see a full tang manix xl in 4V or M4 and the idea of a fixed Dragonfly is cool too, maybe H1 SE.

A fixed blade DF2 H1 SE would be a dream come true! I think this deserves its own thread! Perfect neck knife!

I'm going to say the H1 SE Spyderhawk Salt. It's large enough, useful enough, and I think would be a mainstay in the serrated hawkbill fixed blade market, especially given that it doesn't really exist as of yet lol. If it existed with a good sheath I'd have one permanently mounted to my climbing harness.

I definitely like the idea better than the ARK (which I like).

Maybe a Vallotton or Starmate.

Or... if we reverse the "what if" to somehow make a folder inspired by the Southfork.
Going back to Caly.

I agree. The Dragonfly has such perfect curves and I think it would translate nicley into a lil fixer! (Just a bit larger than current DF2 size)

Perhaps it's because I have little need for a fixed blade knife other than in the kitchen. Perhaps it's because I've never had a folding knife fold when I didn't want it to fold. Perhaps I'm just being an old fart who's set in his ways again. Whatever the reason, I can't think of a single case where I'd want to give up the ease of carry the compactness of a folder provides. To gain what exactly?

I am absolutely satisfied with what I have: I love my T2, Lum Tanto and Forager. All of them look good in my display case :)
As for EDC, nothing can beat N5 :D

I'd say the native would be a nice mid-sized one aswell.
A tiger has claws.
A wolf has teeth.
An eagle has talons.
We, have Spyderco.

Pingo. I know Boker has something similar but it's not a Pingo handle. That would be a utility/food prep assassin
