What if a Yojimbo 2 and a Manix 2 had a love child?

It would look something like this:

I modeled the handle after my custom Yojimbo 2 and swapped in a S110V blade. I also rounded off the pinky bump and brushed the edges of the liners to match the back spacer/lock (which I didn't take a pic of) and smoothed all the jimping except for inside the choil and on the spine (which I may still remove). The result feels a lot like my Yojimbo 2, but also has a 50/50 choil and a slight belly to the blade to make it a bit more versatile. There's also a bit of Dialex Junior influence thrown in for good measure.

Forgive the ratty edge, that blade still hasn't been sharpened since it cut down the bushes in my back yard :o

That is really quite nice. Do you have a photo of it in hand and also in the closed position?

Looks a lot like a Byrd Raven, at least at a quick glance.

Heh, might not be far off. I need to find a drill press so I can skeletonize the liners. I want this without liners, in solid1/4 inch thick G10.

Huh, sure does. I don't keep up with the byrd line so that's the first I've seen of it.

Thanks man! Wow, that is beautiful. Love the curves! It definitely has some Schempp-esque overtones too. :)

I love it. Feels a lot like a Yojimbo 2 to me but that was my goal so it may just be stuck in my head. It could also be compared to a Stretch. I wanted to make the main coil even deeper and more dramatic but I'm gonna use it like this and see how it feels in use. It does feel much different when choked up into the choil.

Yes, that's what I was wondering given the difference in depth between handle and choil. From the pics it looks like it would feel a bit different but not uncomfortable in that grip. Looks great to me...tempts me to pick up a manix.

Excellent work, David. Never could understand the need for that "finger separator" on the Manix, it always seems to be in the wrong place, no matter how I grip the knife.

Nice work D!

I see you added a sharpening notch as well to the blade.

Very slick job.

My 'benchmark' for a custom job is when you have to look carefully to understand that it wasn't a factory model....So very well done. :)
Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

That looks pretty nice. I assume you had to use the full liners, but it would probably lighten up pretty well.

IMO, one of the nice things about the Yojimbo is the pointy end.
