Which Spyderco is in "The Martian"?

Post by Rambo241 »

I watched the movie "The Martian" tonight and it was really good. In a couple of scenes Matt Damon used a Spyderco for food prep. Did anybody else catch this and see which model it was? If I was ever stranded on Mars, I would want a spydie by my side!

I noticed the knife too but it is not a Spyderco. It just a knife with a round hole opener.

I always knew Spyderco ideas were ahead of their time.

Which scene is it in?

It looks like an orange G-10 Blade Tech Pro Hunter but I am not positive. The hole had an oval shape to it.

I also noticed it, definitely had a round or slightly oval hole. It did not look like any spyderco I had ever seen before, I think the closest model was perhaps a Lionspy. Seemed like a liner lock to me. Quality of the knife didnt look very good.

Definitely not a Spyderco, despite the hole opener. Handle looked very bulbous.
