FB27 Woodcraft blank

#1

Post by dubya3 »

Does anyone have one of these? I spotted one for sale and I'm thinking of grabbing it but the guy just says it's extremely rare and make am offer.

I like the different (from MULE) design and LOVE the MULE idea but it would be a user and if it's too collectable I'd probably pass. If it's around $200 it's not worth it to me in S30V for a blank.

Thoughts on the blade?

To me collectible and rare don't always mean the same from person to person. I would wait for a cheaper one to come along. Wish you the best of luck though sometimes these decisions can be agonizing!

Don't have one but there were probably about 1000 made for Woodcraft, so whether that fits the definition of "extremely rare" or not is up to you.

I have three or four of them - I bought them from our local Woodcraft dealer when he had them for closeout at $29 each. They are a very nice shape and are not FFG like the Mules. They have a bit of belly on them - great camping knives.

I've got mine shod with micarta scales mostly - and I've given away a few of them as Christmas gifts as well. I personally wouldn't pay $200 for what amounts to an S30v Mule.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to pass on the Woodcraft, it's just not worth $200 to me when I can get any MULE, probably 2, for that price. If it were the 4" Bushcraft blank that might be something I pay a premium for. For now I'm happy with my MULE builds.

Deacon, ~1000 pieces isn't all that rare IMO but the longer the clock ticks the rarer a NIB piece becomes. I'd use one if I had it though :)
