Me too. For awhile they were a regular item, but not lately.

A bit of a thread resurrection.. Just curious as to which version of the Spyderench is considered most rare/sought after?
I have been told both the O.G. US made PE one and the Taiwan made one.
Not sure which model is the most rare or the hardest to find. But I have to believe that my GOLDEN, CO made, First Generation unit must be tough to come by now a days because in the past year I've turned down a couple of really lofty offers.

Also I really like the 440C blade on the GOLDEN made units>> which is one of the twelve reasons I'll probably never part with my original Spyderench.

Now the Taiwan made units weren't really bad at all and I kind of wish I would have kept that last one I had. But there is something special about the ones made in GOLDEN, CO.

I wish that guy Marty who designed the original would go back to the drawing board and come up with another unique multi-tool for Spyderco. Now that Spyderco's popularity has gone up considerably I bet a multi-tool would sell good in today's market.

I agree 💯. I love the whole idea of a Spyderco Multitool. I've a small collection of Swisstools, Gerber and Leatherman tools, but the Spyderco is definitely the missing King of the Hill for me!

Did it actually sell for that price or is that just what they were asking on a "Buy It Now" price? I can't imagine someone paying six C-notes for a Spyderench. But I guess stranger things have happened. I did turn down a $250 offer for my Golden made Spyderench. I like mine and I'll probably never sell or trade it. Again I kind of wish I never would have traded that Taiwan made Spyderench when I did.

If that guy named "Marty" who designed the original Spyderench is still active I would love to see him design another one. I bet Spyderco could do well if they had a Spyderench 2 to put on the market.

Believe it or not, there's actually 25 bids on it. It's a Golden version, complete with a box. Maybe Sal might do well with a sprint run if they're actually getting interest on them at that price ?!

I agree on a 2nd version.

That is beyond belief. This is an excellent reason that my desire to see the C-60 Ayoob model return may be the start of a "frenzy" for old school Spyders.
Heck at this rate I ought to put up one of my C-46 Lum Tanto folders for sale or trade.

But if they could get "Marty" ( the designer of the Spyderench) to do a Spyderench 2 model they might do really well in a second time around.

Please Don't :) Because I want the value to continue to escalate. And we need to conserve Spyderco tradition as well.

The Golden Made Spyderenchs are truly a piece of Spyder-History.

But I do want to see a new Spyderco Multi-tool of some sort.

I'd love to have the Spyderench, but I'd gladly take either. I keep hoping I'll be walking along and find one lying along the road 😂

I object>> because there are some things that are simply worth more than money>> and a piece of Spyder History can sure qualify at times like this. However it is beyond belief what some of these older models are getting on the secondary markets.
