dream sprint?

#1

Post by clevelanddean »

What's your dream sprint run. Limited edition to make it special, different materials to make it special.

I'm expecting to hear someone say something like a titanium and damascus para2, which now, while I'm saying it sounds pretty good actually. Mine personally would be something like a bolstered (preferably titanium) and carbon fiber, damascus Caly 3.5. I have the caly 3 damascus and love it from its ergos and it's ascetics but it is just a bit too small to be a personal hall of famer. A my 3 never leaves my pocket because it's gorgeous, 3.5 would never leave because it's gorgeous and more functional for me.

So what's your dream sprint?

All sprints are my dream sprint.

(It seems like we have this type of thread once a month.)

A partially serrated Captain. A FFG Captain in ZDP-189. A Merlin or Spyderhawk FFG in ZDP-189. A Lil Matriarch FFG in ZDP-189. A Cento4 sprint in ZDP-189. A Jess Horn LW in H1 or ZDP-189. Bergundy FRN or G10 preferably.

Any one of those would make me giddy. :)

Persian with feather Damascus blade and blue lightning strike CF handles.

Kris with buffed red G-10 handles.

Super Blue Barong with Titanium handles, integral lock, and black timascus bolsters.

Even though it's still in the prototype stage, a Peter Carey Magnitude with raindrop Damascus blade, MokuTi bolsters, and marbled CF handles.

Nilakka with a carbon steel blade and any earth-tone or green G10 for the handle.

[strike]Or dreaming big, a Rubicon with CF handle, matching CF backspacer, blue anodized Ti pivot ring, blue anodized liners, and a CPM-154 blade.[/strike]

On second thought even that might be too much. So a sprint Rubicon with coyote brown G10, CF pivot collar, CF backspacer, bronze anodized Ti hardware, and a CPM-154 blade in satin.

M4 PM2...luckily, it's actually happening!

Also, a compression lock Ocelot made in Golden with linen Micarta scales and a FFG CTS-204P blade would be the ultimate Spyder for me.

Warhammer 40000 is- basically- Lord Of The Rings on a cocktail of every drug known to man and genuine lunar dust, stuck in a blender with Alien, Mechwarrior, Dune, Starship Troopers, Fahrenheit 451 and Star Wars, bathed in blood, turned up to eleventy billion, set on fire, and catapulted off into space screaming "WAAAGH!" and waving a chainsaw sword- without the happy ending.

I'm down for that!

My idea:

-R with natural translucent G10 with a geometric machined texture (not fully skeletonized), VG-10 is fine.

Anything with Military in the name.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

Many ideas for sprints have/are coming true. My main sprint wish was the ATR and many agreed with me. Now it seems that it will be a reality. I take it as proof that Sal listens to this forum and its members :)

I agree that a Caly 3.5 sprint would make many people , including me very happy.

A Lum Tanto Folder Sprint of some sort would be huge.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

ATR is coming back? Which version? I always liked that knife, but never could find a black coated PE. Any details on the new model yet?

Easy. PM2 (or Caly 3.5 or Dialex Junior or Manix 2) in 52100/AEB-L/1095 run at 60+ HRC with G10 scales in a non-silly colour. If we're dreaming, pre-zero ground so I don't have to break out the Norton Crystolon coarse as soon as I get it...
